Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT DOES INSURANCE COVER?
If you have a major PPO insurance, in most cases, your chiropractic adjustment is covered as well as many therapies we offer in our practice. Examples may include spinal decompression therapy, trigger point and/or massage therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, electric muscle stimulation, traction as well as many other therapies. There are exceptions to each insurance program but we will gladly pre-verify your insurance for you prior to your first visit in our office.
DOES CHIROPRACTIC CARE HURT?
It doesn’t have to! Dr. Scherer practices the Palmer Technique which means that you have many options to get the best adjustment for you. We cater towards getting the best results and towards YOU! If you are nervous about manual adjustments, we have other techniques that you will be comfortable with.
DO I HAVE TO BE A PATIENT FOR LIFE?
Maintenance care is totally up to you and your personal health habits. If you are in treatment for long-term relief, maintence care may be for you. Everyone is different! Your care plan is catered to your diagnosis by the doctor and your set of standards for health after the condition is resolved.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT THE FIRST FEW VISITS?
Visit one consists of meeting the doctor and performing a health history consultation with an orthopedic and chiropractic evaluation. If additional testing is needed (Xray, MRI, CT), the order will be written for you. This visit take anywhere from 15 minutes to 45 minutes. Visit Two consists of a “REPORT OF FINDING” consultation where the doctor will review your condition, give you a course of treatment and answer your insurance or financial questions as it pertains to our office. This visit all of your questions will be answered. This visit takes anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour depending on if treatment begins. There are some exceptions to the rule where patients are treated on Visit One but most of the time care begins on Visit Two. If you need additional visits, only treatment time is needed from visit 3 on.
